His property is still present in Medina and a hotel has been built on this land by the Saudi government, the income of which is given as charity by Syedna Uthman to the Gharba and the poor.

This is the great ongoing charity which is the result of the sincere intention of Hazrat Uthman bin Affan.

When the Muslims migrated to Medina, there was a great shortage of clean drinking water. There was a well of a Jew who sold water to the Muslims at high prices. The name of this well was "Beer Rumah" meaning Rumah well. The Muslims complained to the Holy Prophet and informed about their problems. The Holy Prophet said:

Whoever buys this well and dedicates it to the Muslims, for doing so, Allah Almighty will grant him a fountain in heaven. Hazrat Uthman bin Affan went to the Jew and expressed his desire to buy the well. The Jew refused to sell the well as it was a profitable source of income. Hazrat Uthman made a plan to tell the Jew that if he doesn't have the whole well, sell half of the well to me. After selling half of the well, the water from the well will be yours one day and mine on the next day. The Jew was tempted. He thought that Hazrat Uthman would sell the water for more money in his day, thus he would get a chance to earn more profit. He sold half of the well to Hazrat Uthman.

Hazrat Uthman allowed Muslims to get free water from the well in his day. People used to get free water on the day of Hazrat Uthman and store it for the next day. The Jew saw that his business had collapsed, so he requested Hazrat Uthman to buy the remaining half of the well. Hazrat Uthman agreed to this and bought the entire well and dedicated it to the Muslims.

Meanwhile, a man offered Hazrat Uthman RA to buy the well for double the price. Hazrat Uthman said that I have an offer much more than that. He said that he will give 3 times. Hazrat Uthman said, I have an offer many times more than that. He said I will give 4 times. Thus the man continued to increase and Hazrat Usman was giving the same reply. Till this time, the man said, Hazrat Akhir, who is he who is offering you 10 times. Hazrat Uthman said that my Lord offers me 10 times reward for a good deed.

Time passed and this well continued to water the Muslims until a date palm grove grew around the well. This garden was maintained during the Ottoman Empire. Later, during the reign of the Saudi government, the number of date trees in this garden increased to 1550.

This garden was registered in the municipality in the name of Hazrat Uthman bin Affan. The Ministry of Agriculture used to sell dates here in the market and kept depositing the proceedings in the bank in the name of Hazrat Uthman Bin Affan until the account accumulated so much money that a plot was taken in the central area where the Hotel Uthman Bin was built. A residential hotel was started to be built in the name of Affan.

Annual income of 50 million riyals is expected from this hotel.

Half of it will be distributed among the orphans and the poor, while the other half will be collected in Hazrat Usman's account.

Guess how Allah Ta'ala accepted this holy act of Hazrat Uthman and blessed him in such a way that charity became continuous for him till the Day of Judgment.
